The RAV4 Hybrid was previewed recently, but not too many details were shared about it until it was officially released in Frankfurt just a little while ago.

The new RAV4 has more power, and even better, additional mileage all thanks to the hybrid system! That means a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine, one electric motor positioned at each axle, and a continuously variable transmission. And in addition to great fuel efficency, the RAV4 Hybrid has improved acceleration and also  Electronic On-Demand AWD-i.AWD-i, (All Wheel Drive with Intelligence)  automatically changes the amount of  tourque that goest to each individual wheel.

The RAV4 hybrid has the exact same style as the gasoline-powered RAV4, which also has had some fresh 2016 updates! Some of those updates are new front and rear fascia’s, restyled rocker panels, and a brand-new tailgate design. For the inside, there are some blue-tinted bits for the hybrid style. The RAV4 hybrid also has its own special set of 17-inch wheels and comes in 6 different colours, Super White, Blizzard Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Classic Silver Metallic, Black Sand Pearl and a new Electric Storm Blue.2015-toyota-rav4-hybrid-teaser-photo_100505424_m

The RAV4 hybrid will not be offered in base LE or the new SE trim levels, only the XLE and premium LIMITED trim. Because of that though, it includes many of the refreshed features that are both standard, and available in upgraded trim levels. These includes improved interior materials, a 4.2-inch TFT information screen in the gauges, an additional USB port, and the new around-view monitor. In the center stack, there is a seven-inch touch screen.

So far, pricing is not yet available. But it shoudn’t be to long until it comes out this fall! Come on down to McPhillips Toyota in Winnipeg for a test drive when the 2016 RAV4 Hybrid becomes available later this year!
